One of my favourite units, this enthusiastic junior officer is usually deployed as an ADC. This is a simple conversion from a French Guard Lancer, remounted on one of the eight or so suitable horses from the Foundry catalogue. Horse is oil on enamel, and I wish I could remember what colour (probably Burnt Umber) because I like the overall effect. Black and grey highlights look better in real life than in the photo! Brunswick light blue is a tough colour to nail down. Here I have used a Porcelain Blue from the Miniature Paints range, but I have seen a wide variety of shades used successfully and as usual, once can get away with a fair bit of artistic and historical licence, especially for officers.
